As soon as I found out the theme for the week at I heart faces
I knew exactly which photo I would enter.
This photo was taken on an engagement/new family photo shoot.
Jason and his two boys were very excited to be adding Kari to their family.
I thought a great way to represent this new engagement and new family would be
to focus on the hands of the boys showing their love for their family
with the “soon-to-be-married” couple in the background,
doing what “soon-to-be-married” couples do best…kiss!
I love this shot and can’t wait to try it again at other family sessions!
You can check out more “we heart kisses” photos at i heart faces.

I wanted to do something.
Rather than just sit at my computer and read the news about Haiti.
I wanted to do my part to help out.
But my part includes you.
For any photo session that is booked from now until Friday, February 4th at noon (CST)
I will donate 50% of the session fee to LCMS World Relief and Human Care.
Your session does not have to take place this week,
you just need to get it on the calendar and pay your session fee.

If you’d like to do even more check out my family blog for info on other ways you can help.
This promotion does not include wedding photography.

I knew this photo would be perfect for the challenge over at I heart faces!
I took this photo at the end of my newborn session with Grant.
He was SOOO over the photo shoot and just ready to really sleep without all the noise of my shutter.
He seemed so content to be in grandma’s arm so I snapped a few of the two of them.
Then mom joined the party and it was an even better shot.
Three generations of family love!
They ARE family! And it shows!

After 36 hours of labor and finally a c-section this cute little man was brought into the world.
I know his parents couldn’t be happier or more tired.
What an incredible blessing this little guy is to this family.
He is loved beyond imagination.
Thanks Steve and Angela for letting me invade your space this morning.
Even though Grant didn’t like being cold I think we got some great photographs.
I hope that you will treasure these photographs,
and one day when Grant is over 6 feet tall like Steve you can show him where he started!
I’ve only edited a few and have a TON more to go through,
but I wanted to post a few sneak peaks for you right away…
ENJOY!!!

Because we live so far south and most of our family and friends live in the north/midwest we don’t get to see our friends very often throughout the year. But when we do get to see friends it’s a special treat. Ryan and Kristy called and asked if they could stay with us for a couple of nights while they played tourist in our city. We were happy to have them! I was able to do a mini photo session with them before they left too. While Ryan and Greg talked “shop” Kristy and I talked photography and we had a great time seeing our friends again. It was pouring down rain when we were going to do their session so we just stayed on my front porch…hey, whatever works! Here are a few sneak peaks!
