It just seems to happen that when I see the theme for the week at I heart faces,
I either have the “perfect” photo or I don’t have anything.
Once again, the perfect photo came to mind when I saw the theme of JUMP!
My sweet little Naomi catching some air on a new photo shoot site exploration!

This sweet little guy just turned one yesterday.
We were with him last weekend and I wanted to grab a few photos of him for his mama.
And because I always love to compare the newborn photos with the one year photos.
JJ is an amazing little dude.
He was born with a severe cleft lip and palette but never let it get him down.
While some of the big surgeries are done there are still more to come.
I’m convinced that this little fighter will remain happy and optimistic through it all.
I love this family and am so grateful that we’re able to still hang out
and spend time being families together!
You can see their family photos that I took this past November by clicking on the link.
Happy Birthday JJ.
We love you!

As soon as I found out the theme for the week at I heart faces
I knew exactly which photo I would enter.
This photo was taken on an engagement/new family photo shoot.
Jason and his two boys were very excited to be adding Kari to their family.
I thought a great way to represent this new engagement and new family would be
to focus on the hands of the boys showing their love for their family
with the “soon-to-be-married” couple in the background,
doing what “soon-to-be-married” couples do best…kiss!
I love this shot and can’t wait to try it again at other family sessions!
You can check out more “we heart kisses” photos at i heart faces.

I wanted to do something.
Rather than just sit at my computer and read the news about Haiti.
I wanted to do my part to help out.
But my part includes you.
For any photo session that is booked from now until Friday, February 4th at noon (CST)
I will donate 50% of the session fee to LCMS World Relief and Human Care.
Your session does not have to take place this week,
you just need to get it on the calendar and pay your session fee.

If you’d like to do even more check out my family blog for info on other ways you can help.
This promotion does not include wedding photography.

Do what makes you happy.
This phrase keeps running through my mind.
I know that my daughter does what makes her happy.
Most days that includes dressing up in a princess costume or in her “ballerina girl” outfit.
Taking photos of this sweet little lady makes me happy.
What makes you happy?
