[...] Last night was our turn to watch the neighbors kids. We decided to have breakfast for dinner and then let the kids make their own dessert. They made little s’mores roll-ups. Super easy and delicious! Just a croissant, some chocolate chips and marshmallows. The kids loved that they were able to make their own dessert! They were pretty delicious too!In other news, my daughter started 4K on Thursday. We were originally going to homeschool this year but we’ve decided to send her to the local Catholic school. She was a little late in starting because we weren’t planning on sending her but she didn’t miss much…besides she couldn’t have gone the first week because she was super sick. You can see more pictures from our mini “first day of school” photo shoot and hear about our decision to send her here. [...]

Beautiful photos Jamie! She looks adorable. I have to tell you that I thought about homeschooling too and I'm just not cut out for it either. ;-( although it sounds so wonderful. I have loved the schedule of school too and the fun the kids have. They know nothing but going to school and if I homeschooled now it would be a major shock to them. I think they really enjoy their independence at school even though its so hard for me to let go. Best of luck to Naomi on her first day/year of school!

She looks so grown up!!! Hope she loves it and I know she will love making new friends. By the way, her "first flame" Corbin is leaving our SS class and going to first grade. It seems like he has been with us for a lifetime.

Don't feel guilty Jamie. Naomi will thrive! You have laid a wonderful foundation. I too was not cut out for homeschooling and look at my Molly and my David. David has a strong faith and is getting ready to join the USAF and Molly is a straight A student with an amazing faith and has hopes of attending Rice University. Private schools served us well. Just keep your Mommy eye on things and it'll be great! Big hug to you and yours.

bittersweet, isn't it... I mean, you've lain the foundation of her schooling and are now entrusting others to further it along. I pray she learns well - both what the texts and curriculum have to offer and what her new school life provides. I hope she stays successful, comes home with awesome stories, and continues to be as precious and sweet as she is in these photos. (LOVE the shot in color from above w/ the apple and the first of your little man)
