My cousin Heather asked me if I would be willing to photograph her little girl, Danika while I was home for Julie’s wedding. Any opportunity for me to photograph kids is a great opportunity…and my cousins kid, even better! Danika is just one month older than my daughter so I know a little bit about how she works. I had a fun time following Danika around at the apple orchard and in my parents backyard. I was told that it would be a challenge to get Danika to smile for the camera or even to look at the camera…I can understand that completely as Naomi is the same way sometimes. I took the challenge head on and got some great shots of Danika and I really hope that Heather loves them as much as I do…if not more! I had a hard time narrowing it down…so I posted lots for Heather to see!

I had the distinct honor of being the matron of honor in my best friends wedding this past weekend. What a fun, amazing and Christ centered day it was. I am so excited for Julie and Clif to begin their life together…I cannot wait to see what God has in store for them. I took TONS of photographs at the wedding but just wanted to post two real quick! Look for more in the coming week!

The other day my friend Jana came over to shoot some headshots for me as well as a few shots with my kids. My friend Amy and her children were hanging out at my house so they were watching what was going on. Jake and Sophia got excited and wanted their picture taken too. So, after Jana took my headshots I got my camera out and got a few great shots of Jake and Sophia…and here are a few of those images.

Seriously, where does the time go? I haven’t blogged in almost a month and my daughter just turned two today! Wow! Time flies. I had a great time photographing Naomi this morning. She is not the willing participant that she used to be but if I don’t make the photo shoot about her then she doesn’t really seem to care. She has started saying, “Mommy camera down” to me in the last few weeks… that’s not something that a photographer wants to hear from their children. But, at least she let me capture some memories of her at two this morning.
